Control Resonant Will Have Steam Deck Support At Launch

Of all the games I played at Summer Game Fest, Control Resonant was one of my favorites. The story hooked me in from its opening act, and the gameplay sucked me in later on. I can’t wait for the release, and I’m so curious how much I can expand the powers I have. However, one of my biggest questions was about whether the game will be playable on the Steam Deck. And I can happily say that we actually already have an answer.

Over in an FAQ from last year, developer Remedy Entertainment answered the question of whether the game would be supported on the Steam Deck. They said that: "Yes. CONTROL Resonant will support Steam Deck at launch."

Now, there aren’t many details affiliated with their answer, so we don’t know what kind of performance they’re aiming for. Because of that, I asked them about the performance while I was at the event, but they weren’t able to comment on it just yet. Still, they did double down and confirm again that they are aiming to support the Steam Deck at launch.

I can see this being an amazing game to play on the go, so I am really hoping for good performance and solid visual quality for portable play. Control was an awesome game to play on the Deck in its own right, so I would love to continue playing the franchise this way. It sounds like it will be possible, and I’m super excited to find out for myself; I just hope that there aren’t too many compromises to make sure it is good to play this way.
