Batman: Arkham Asylum Is Finally Steam Deck Verified

There are a lot of fantastic games that have always been wonderful to play on the Steam Deck. They may have needed some workarounds here and there at times, but are still generally playable. One of those games is Batman: Arkham Asylum. The entire Arkham series has always been one of the few that I recommend, especially when it’s in that bundle for $8, and as the first game in the series, it has always run well on the Deck. However, after all these years, the game has finally received the Verified badge.

After years, Batman: Arkham Asylum is finally Steam Deck Verified. It officially got the badge last week, but the game has always been relatively playable on the Deck. It has easily been one of my favorites to go back and enjoy again on the go, so seeing it get the green checkmark feels quite nice. It plays wonderfully as well, and can easily hit 60 FPS throughout the entire game with around 3-3.5 hours of battery life.

When the Steam Deck first launched, the game did have some issues, especially when it came to its launcher. However, as soon as we got past that and used the correct Proton layer, it was perfectly playable and performed wonderfully. For a while, we haven’t needed any workarounds, and it has been very enjoyable right out of the box. Now, it has that green checkmark to show it. Not long ago, the sequel to Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City, received similar treatment, and it’s incredible to see the series get the green checkmarks it deserves.

Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY Edition is available on Steam for $19.99, but if you want to save a lot of money, you can get it on Fanatical right now for $2.49.
