With the year over, we have a good look at what was played through the entirety of the year, but it is still intriguing to see monthly breakdowns of which games have been played the most on the Steam Deck. Today, Valve posted the top 20 games that were played on the Deck in December 2023, and while there are a lot of familiar faces, there were a couple of surprises I didn't expect to see:

It makes sense seeing Baldur's Gate 3 top the list again, especially after their win for Game of the Year at The Game Awards, but I was surprised seeing Monster Hunter: World come up so much. I was also shocked to see Brotato not make the list, as it is such an incredible game on Steam Deck that has been on every list this year!

So, compared to last month's list, here are what has changed:

New Steam Deck Games Added:

  • Lethal Company
  • Disney Dreamlight Valley

Games That Left:

  • Brotato
  • Risk of Rain Returns

Overall, this is still a great list of games, and I am extremely excited to see each one here! Seeing Disney Dreamlight Valley make a return makes me want to pick it back up and see if it has gotten any better, so I may need to go do that now.
