I play many games on the Steam Deck, especially games like Vampire Survivors. They tend to run well and are very popular, so I play lots of them. They all have a lot of similarities, and those similarities aren't bad, but I do love seeing games that tend to go in a different direction. Temtem: Swarm is one of those different-direction games. The way you evolve and upgrade the Temtem you are controlling and how the abilities interact with each other and can do this all in co-op is just a blast. However, a new update was just released as well, which should improve playing on the Steam Deck!

Now, Temtem: Swarm is already perfectly playable on the Steam Deck, but they weren't able to get that Verified rating due to some text being too small, but this should change soon. In the new 0.5.2 patch released yesterday, the team has made improvements to make sure they get Verified. While they don't go into detail, there's only one issue stopping them from the green checkmark, so it's pretty easy to infer exactly what they improved on.
This update also added a backup system for your save games! Before this, the game would completely erase any corrupted saves, so now, the game will create a copy of your current save before overwriting it with the new one. This should ensure that you always have a save file to return to if the worst happens. In-game status pickups now work similarly to Tech, all portraits are now completely animated, and there have been lots of new notifications when trying to connect to other players.
There are also some improvements across the board, with loading times getting cut and fewer crashes, a new spawn VFX, and a better camera for the bigger Temtem. You can check out of the full changelog with all of these improvements via their Steam Community Post.

Temtem: Swarm can be purchased on Steam for $9.99.
