Sonic X Shadow Generations is a Remaster of Sonic Generations + An All-New Campaign

Much like Until Dawn, this game received a few rumors before Sony's State of Play event tonight, we just weren't sure exactly what it was, well now we do!

Sonic X Shadow Generations is a remaster of the original Sonic Generations from back in 2011. Rather than being a simple remaster though, as the title suggests, Shadow the Hedgehog becomes a playable character and has his very own stand-alone campaign in the game! Sonic X Shadow Generations promises enhanced visuals and also bonus content for the original Sonic Generations game we know and love, as well as exploring never-before-seen abilities and powers possessed by Shadow the Hedgehog in his own stand-alone campaign!

Shadow's campaign will involve him facing off against Black Doom, facing his own past, confronting painful memories, and meeting familiar foes as he gains new powers and shows why he is known as the "Ultimate Life Form".

We don't have an exact date, but we do know Sonic X Shadow Generations is planned to launch in Autumn 2024 on Steam.

I personally am not a huge fan of Sonic, but one of the few Sonic games I did actually enjoy in the post-Gamecube era was Sonic Generations, and I think the Steam Deck might be a good device to enjoy a game like this on, so I may be giving this a spin when it drops later this year!
