There are so many games that get released constantly, but there are a few studios that keep releasing weird titles that hook me in. One of those developers is Strange Scaffold, which has made titles like I Am Your Beast, CLICKOLDING, and most recently, Truck-kun Is Supporting Me From Another World. Today, they announced their next game, and it follows the weirdness that I have come to love and expect from the team.

Something is Wrong With the Library is a haunted book sorting simulator, where you will have to put away hundreds of books on the shelves over the course of one tense night. However, this is no ordinary library, as the person the library is named after has been killing unhoused people and stuffing them in the walls. With the library extremely haunted, you’ll have to shelve the books and unravel the chilling story that’s around this place.

I can’t wait for this release, and it sounds like there will be a reason to play it multiple times. The story is fully voiced; it has thousands of real book titles and a chaos system that gives you a different set of books to shelve every playthrough. We will have to use different sorts of classifications, whether it would be the author, title, or Dewey Decimal System, and the key features note this Drowning Room that strikes me as quite odd.

On top of that, we got confirmation that they will be supporting the Steam Deck on launch. They’re going to be aiming for the Verified badge as well, but as this is Valve’s system, they can’t 100% say we’ll have the green checkmark on launch. Still, after playing Librarian: Tidy Up the Arcane Library, another book sorting simulator, I’m ready to dive back into one that has more of a story and looks like it will turn everything on its head.

Something is Wrong With the Library can be wishlisted on Steam ahead of its release later this year.
