We might be used to AYANEO announcing new handhelds on the regular, but today, not only did they announce a new handheld in the form of the AYANEO Pocket S2, but they've also announced a new form factor for their handhelds, with the AYANEO Gaming Pad.

The Pocket S2

The AYANEO Pocket S2 carries on from its predecessor, the AYANEO Pocket S, enhanced with a
Qualcomm Snapdragon® G3 Gen 3 processor, a 6.3" display instead of the previous 6" on the original, and a larger battery for longer playing times. It still runs the Android operating system.

Notably, it looks like the device is a bit more curved this time, which hopefully makes it a little nicer to hold for longer periods of time.

The Gaming Pad

The AYANEO Gaming Pad is thoroughly interesting, as it presents a form factor that AYANEO hasn't really delved into before, the tablet.

The Gaming Pad also features a Qualcomm Snapdragon® G3 Gen 3 processor and boasts a huge 8.3" 1440p 120Hz display. It's unclear whether the controller shown in the press images is included, but I'm going to assume that it is not, as AYANEO states that the Gaming Pad is compatible with various mobile gaming controllers, so it's likely you'll be expected to provide your own.

AYANEO finished by saying that they'll be releasing more details on these devices in the future. Right now we'd love to know when these devices are expected to hit, and at what price point they will be set at. I would also love to know the weight of the Gaming Pad, as that could be an important factor for many on whether to go for such a big device.

Are you looking forward to these devices releasing in the future? The Gaming Pad came out of the blue for me, but it's pretty cool to see an Android tablet built specifically for gaming and with a pretty nice display to boot.
