Wuthering Waves

If you’re looking to play anime gacha games on the Steam Deck, then I highly recommend getting dwproton. This community made a fork of the Proton layer that focuses on including a bunch of early fixes for these games. Recently, they included one that finally makes Honkai Star Rail run out of the box, and their next update is here and helps out with Wuthering Waves.

With the new 11.0-12 update, Wuthering Waves should no longer crash after the recent 3.6 update. For whatever reason, the new update caused some crashes in the game, so it shouldn’t be a problem anymore. The update also includes some media patches that came in with the latest development Proton-CachyOS layer, which should fix cutting scenes for some games, including Witch on the Holy Night.

The Proton layer can be downloaded via ProtonPlus, which can be downloaded through the Discover Store in Desktop Mode on the Steam Deck.

  • Fixed Wuthering Waves crashing on some setups after 3.6 update (#46, #45)
  • Synced media patches with latest development proton-cachyos branches
    • This includes a fix for cutscenes in Witch on the Holy Night, game should not skip them anymore
