UPDATE 7/1/26 - The game is now Verified and is showing the green checkmark on its store page.

One of the series where all of the titles can be played on the Steam Deck is the Assassin’s Creed series. This includes the newest game in the mainline series, Assassin’s Creed Shadows. And because of this, I was really hoping that the remake of Black Flag, Black Flag Resynced, would follow suit. And according to Ubisoft, it will be.

In a new post on Steam, Ubisoft announced that Black Flag Resynced will be Steam Deck verified at launch. This means the game should be playable great right out of the gate with its default settings and controller configuration, text will be legible and readable, and it will show the correct controller icons.

In the post, Ubisoft notes how the teams worked hard to make sure that it’s playable in as many places as possible, including handheld devices like the Steam Deck. They also mentioned some of the features that are going to be present in this version of the game, including Raytracing, dynamic weather, and more.

They don’t go into detail about how exactly it’ll run, but they want to make sure it’s playable on the deck. Personally, I’m looking forward to finding out for myself and seeing if it’s gonna be another great entry in the series that we can take on the go.
