A new trailer for Mortal Kombat 1 has just been released, and Warner Bros. is putting an awesome spin on a classic. For the original Mortal Kombat, a TV spot was released to market it that had someone bringing people from all over, and with this trailer, it has been completely reimagined for the upcoming game.
This is not only iconic to see but makes a lot of sense to see now due to Mortal Kombat 1 being a soft reboot for the franchise. On top of that, it stars actor and producer Dave Bautista, who is the one bringing everyone together. On this new trailer, both Bautista and Ed Boon, Co-Creator of Mortal Kombat, had this to say:
I vividly remember the original Mortal Monday commercial, especially the iconic scream. That’s what started my journey as a fan of Mortal Kombat, which continues to this day 30 years later. I’m very thrilled and honored to be a part of the game’s legacy.
Dave Bautista
The original Mortal Monday commercial earmarked the beginning of our journey into making games for home gaming systems. It’s amazing to pay homage to such a memorable moment in Mortal Kombat history as we get ready to launch our newest game, Mortal Kombat 1.
Ed Boon - Co-Creator of Mortal Kombat and Chief Creative Officer of NetherRealm Studios
