The Steam Machine Welcome Tour Has Been Added to Steam

There has been so much speculation on when the Steam Machine and Steam Frame are going to be released, and I personally can’t wait. I'm especially excited for the Steam Machine, because I very much want to take my PC gaming ecosystem and bring it to a console-like experience on my couch. And now, I think it could be coming quite soon because the Steam Machine welcome tour was just added to Steam.

Spotted by Brad Lynch (@sadlyitsbradley), the welcome tour for the Steam Machine is now on the backend of Steam. The welcome tour is the first thing we see when we turn on the Steam Deck and log in, taking us through guides on how to use the UI. This seems to be the same exact thing, but it is specifically for the Steam Machine. It comes coupled with its own wording, and it looks like it comes with a guide on how to update the Steam Controller firmware. The updates for this came last night, which is just making me even more excited.

In a follow-up comment, Brad mentioned that when the Steam Controller got this treatment, pricing and availability announcements were published a few weeks later. This could indicate that we will see an announcement in a few weeks, but it’s also possibly could come sooner. Geoff Keighley posted a very coded GIF that shows steam coming up from the ground. With Summer Game Fest in a week, it could mean that we will be seeing an announcement at the showcase. This would be huge for Valve, and could get lots of eyes on their hardware.

Of course, this is all speculation, but it is something that I am very excited about, and I have my hopes up. I am a little on the worried side when it comes to its price, especially since the Steam Deck's price rose by over $200, but that most likely won't stop me from buying it.
