There are a few tools used in video games that can upset the gaming community, and one of those is Denuvo. This anti-tampering service is used primarily to stop multiple people from using the same copy of the game, but it ultimately uses a little bit of extra power that the game could be using, and causes some issues on the Steam Deck when trying different Proton layers for a game. However, while most games can still run decently even with it, it's still great to see when it is removed. And next month, there will be another new game that has rid itself of Denuvo.

Hi-Fi Rush

Starting January 16th of next year, Hi-Fi Rush will be removing Denuvo completely. The game is scheduled to remove Denuvo at Midnight (KST) on January 16th, with the game using its own anti-tampering features instead. In the announcement, they mention the adjustment is supposed to provide a more stable environment, and I would be surprised if we don't see some improvement with Denuvo gone.

This is a mandatory patch that changes the internal system structure, which means that everyone will be required to update the game, and old versions will no longer be usable. Still, I can't see any reason not to get this patch, with this change most likely helping more than hurting.

Hi-Fi Rush can be purchased on Steam for $29.99 and is rated Verified. This is something we confirm in our review, which goes into just how great the game is in terms of content and playability on the Steam Deck.
