Despite enjoying extraction shooters, I don’t play many of them. Not because I don’t want to, but because the ones I do wanna play aren’t that enjoyable on the Steam Deck. However, one of the few that is enjoyable on the go is ZERO Sievert. I’ve enjoyed the game a lot and was super excited to see the announcement of ZERO Sievert 2. Because of how well the first one runs on the Deck, I was hoping that this would continue with the next game. And it sounds like it will.

I went ahead and asked the team if they will be making sure the sequel will be playable on the Steam Deck, and if they’re going to have it compatible on early access launch. They responded, saying that they plan on having Deck support for early access so they can keep working on and improving it leading up to the 1.0 release.
Personally, this is a huge relief. I was a little worried, seeing how the sequel has a new, more demanding art style, and the system requirements have definitely gone up. The CPU requirement is especially on the high side. However, I have seen things like this, and the devs make a specific Steam Deck build, so it’s possible they’ll be doing that again here.
Regardless, having the confirmation makes me feel a lot better. I can’t wait to play the sequel, and I’m so excited for the early access release, which will bring online co-op and a cool new way to experience ZERO Sievert with the new aesthetic.

ZERO Sievert 2 can be wishlisted ahead of its early access release.
