The Wild West isn't a genre you necessarily see so much in video games, at least, not lately. Aside from major titles like Red Dead Redemption, it's hard to think of too many off the top of my head. Enter the world of Arco, this tactical action game promises to let you shape the story with your decisions. You'll journey through lush forests, sweeping plains, and scorching deserts as you guide your 4 protagonists in their vendetta against the Red Company gang. The game is launching in just over 2 weeks, on August 15th, 2024, with a demo already out now.

So what can you expect to do in Arco's somewhat fantasy take on the Wild West?
The game uses a simultaneous turn-based combat system, meaning time pauses while you plan your actions, but when you've decided what to do, both you and your enemies will move at the same time. This means you'll need to do some forward planning to stay ahead of your opponents, as well as your own guilt, which will cause additional enemies to spawn, who ignore the flow of time in this turn-based tactical RPG.
As you progress, you'll unlock new skills, allies, and resources that will give you the edge in combat, each campaign will put you in control of a different protagonist, allowing you to learn their special abilities, as well as see the narrative from their standpoint.

Arco is due to launch on Steam on August 15th, 2024. The game has full controller support, and the system requirements are low, so the Steam Deck shouldn't have any difficulty running this one.
