A new Steam Deck Beta Client update was released yesterday, and it has a very interesting fix that should improve battery life a bit. The polling rate for the Steam Frame Limiter has been reduced to save battery life. Valve has noted this could save up to 6% on battery life when playing a low-power game like Half-Life 2 at 30 FPS, but these savings should be seen across the board to some degree. It may not be a lot, but extra battery is extra battery! We also have two errors fixed for the downloads page and virtual menu settings.
You can download the update yourself in the System Settings on the Steam Deck. Make sure your update channel is set to Beta or Preview.
