Playing Horizon: Zero Dawn on the Steam Deck was a pretty insane experience that I won't forget. It may not have been optimal, but it showed the possibilities of what a portable PC could do. Now, we have official confirmation of Horizon: Forbidden West Complete Edition's PC release date of March 21st and some PC specific features to look forward to!

With this announcement, you can now pre-purchase the game on Steam, which comes with some bonus content for anyone who jumps in early:

  • Blacktide Outfit and Blacktide Bow* (available only with pre-purchase)
  • Nora Legacy Outfit and Nora Spear* (available only when linking your Steam account to PlayStation
  • Network)
  • 2 Special Outfits (Carja Behemoth Elite and Nora Thunder Elite)
  • 2 Special Weapons (Carja Behemoth Short Bow and Nora Thunder Sling)
  • In-game Resources Pack including ammunition, potions, and travel packs
  • In-game Apex Clawstrider Machine Strike Piece
  • Exclusive Photo Mode pose and face paint

On top of that, we also got some confirmation on specific PC features. Forbidden West will support DLSS 3 and frame generation, as well as FSR and XeSS. There are no specifics posted about FSR and which version will be used, but I do hope it will be FSR 3 and frame generation will be supported here too. You will also have an unlocked framerate, ultra-wide resolution support, compatibility for triple-monitor setups, and DualSense controller support.

I am really excited about this game, so I can't wait for the release myself! Seeing as how hard Zero Dawn is to run on the Steam Deck, I think Forbidden West may have some troubles, but it's hard not to be excited to try!

You can pre-purchase Horizon: Forbidden West Complete Edition now on Steam for $59.99. You can also wishlist it.
