If you are a fan of Max Payne's style of gameplay, then El Paso, Elsewhere should be in your library right now. This excellent game sees you go through a shape-shifting motel, using your guns to kill vampires in epic slow-mo diving and stake them to destroy the villain you once loved. And, in the newest update, it appears that it is going for the green checkmark badge!

From a patch note posted today by the developer Strange Scaffold, a new build candidate was submitted to Steam to get that Verified badge, hopefully. This was attached to a new patch released today, adding missing BGM, a new High-Quality Audio option, and fixing some bugs.

While we did review El Paso, Elsewhere, it is still great to see the improvements that the team may have made to get it to Valve's fluctuating standards for the badge. We have our feelings on the Verified system and how the flaws could be fixed, but I look at this build submission as the developer putting in some optimizations to get it running as best as it can on the Steam Deck. Regardless, we can't wait to see that green checkmark appear next to such an awesome game!

El Paso, Elsewhere is available now on Steam for $19.99.
