The 2025 Steam Summer Sale is in full swing, and I have been combing the catalog for the hidden gems that deserve your time and money! This has proved a popular post the last couple of times I have written these, and I think people will like what I have picked for the hot weather! I have found many new games for your enjoyment, so grab some snacks, prepare your bank account, and let's begin!

If you are looking for more recommendations for this sale, you can check out Part 1 and Part 2 of our general recommendations, as well as our budget recommendations for games under $15.

Approaching Infinity - $13.99 (25% off)

Approaching Infinity Steam Summer Sale 2025 Hidden Gems

Approaching Infinity began as a traditional roguelike inspired by Star Trek and Borderlands 2. It evolved into a sprawling space adventure with infinite procedural progression. It left early access earlier this year, and is my go-to space sandbox game on Steam. The developer is still updating the game frequently, and if you want to mess around with a space exploration game with some awesome mechanics, Approaching Infinity might be the game for you.

The game doesn't have a Steam Deck rating or controller support, but I've had great success playing it with the Keyboard and Mouse controller profiles.

Chronomon - $11.99 (20% off)

Chronomon

I love this game. It’s another farming sim, true, but it also involves collecting creatures and fighting with them across a dynamic open world. It has a lovely aesthetic and great mechanics, and it is fully cross-compatible with Android/iOS if you have it on mobile. The game is rough around the edges and can get buggy, but I am enjoying myself immensely.

The game is rated Steam Deck Playable because it requires a community controller configuration, shows incorrect controller icons, and has small in-game text. Despite these flaws, it still plays well on the Steam Deck.

Doloc Town - $13.99 (10%  off)

DolocTown 3 1

A futuristic side-scrolling farming sim, Doloc Town, really impresses me. It’s Early Access, but the amount of polish and content on offer here is quite amazing, and the story is good, too. We don’t see many side-scroller farming games, and science fiction settings for the genre are a rarity. Doloc Town is refreshing and a ton of fun, with Steam Deck compatibility as the icing on the cake.

While some text is a little small to read, Doloc Town has great controller support and runs well even on a low TDP.

Escape From Lavender Island - $4.99 (50% off)

escapefromlavenderisland

This game might look like a rainbow migraine, but it is actually a deeply compelling exploration game. I picked this up during the Summer Sale and its story sucked me in.

Escape from Lavender Island is rated Playable on the Steam Deck with some small text. Besides that however, it is a great experience on the Deck.

Endgame: Road to Salvation - $7.19 (40% off)

EndgameRoadtoSalvationStock2

Man, this game is a blast, and more eyes are still needed. The world quickly collapses into a hellscape when demons and undead burst out of nowhere, and you must survive. Rescue survivors, form a caravan, call in various support drops or air strikes, and reach rescue zones. It is brutal and brilliant.

The game doesn't have a Steam Deck rating, but it does have controller support. Surprisingly, it is playable on the Deck with Proton GE.

Gedonia 2 - $10.99 (25% off)

20250408081646 1

The sequel to the original solo dev open-world RPG is quite an impressive achievement. It is quite janky, especially regarding performance, but Gedonia 2 takes all the lessons from the original Gedonia and makes a big leap. The skill system is fantastic, and there is a lot of content here for the low price tag. It might lack the polish of bigger RPGs, but it oozes charm.

Technically, Valve rates Gedonia 2 as Unsupported on the Steam Deck. While it is quite the performance hog, I still find the experience fairly playable, with full controller support. It even comes with co-op!

Nautical Survival - $5.99 (20% off)

NauticalSurvival

A new addition to the survivors genre that allows you to take a vessel out into the great oceans. Explore the seas and hire crew members to your aid. It’s not got many reviews which is a big surprise to me. Check it out!

It is rated Steam Deck Playable, although you may need to use a controller profile to access some control options. Otherwise, it should be a good fit for your Steam Deck.

Scarmonde  $8.99 (45% off)

Scarmonde

I have focused on this retro RPG for a while, and this is probably the best time to get it! The developer has put in a ton of work since its launch last winter, and a recent update has added a random dungeon mode, offering even more content. This is a great discount, and if you want a retro RPG that focuses on gameplay and customization over story, Scarmonde is for you.

It's also Steam Deck verified!

Splintered - $3.99 (20% off)

Splintered

Splintered is a pretty nice little package. It is a unique RPG in which the villain randomizes the world with each defeat. Start with a classic RPG experience, then delve into the strange chaos where the overworld, items, and enemies shuffle around. It packs both classic fun and a small, bite-sized price tag.

Splintered is Steam Deck Verified with a tiny footprint, requiring less than 500mb of space!

Suit for Hire - $8.99 (40% off)

SuitforHireStock1

I bought this when it hit 1.0 last week, and I have zero regrets. Suit for Hire is a brutal action shooter with many modifiers, and it even has an experimental third-person shooter game mode if you fancy switching things up. It shines in the third person, although it might crash a little more in that mode.

Suit for Hire is Steam Deck Verified and is at a great price for a lot of violent shooting fun.

The Doors of Trithius - $11.99 (20% off)

IndieGameDoorsofTrinithius

The Doors of Trithius is an open-world RPG roguelike. Engage in tactical turn-based combat in a world of warring factions, wandering behemoths, and ancient magic. Level your skills, cook, craft, and explore dungeons. Will you follow the story, or let adventure be your guide?

The game is rated Playable due to showing incorrect controller icons, needing to manually bring up the virtual keyboard, and small in-game text. It doesn't have controller support, but a solid controller configuration should make the game playable on the Deck.

UBERSLAUGHTER   $5.99 (40% off)

uberslaughter

UBERSLAUGHTER is another of those arena shooters, showing off its brutal gameplay and gory visuals in all its glory. It is inexpensive, fast-paced, and has Steam Workshop Support. What’s not to like?

The game is rated Playable due to showing incorrect controller icons, needing to manually bring up the virtual keyboard, and small in-game text. It lacks controller support, but a solid controller configuration should make the game playable on the Deck.

And those are just the highlights! With so many games on offer, there should be something for everyone. If you are looking for more, you can check out Part 1 and Part 2 of our general recommendations, as well as our budget recommendations for games under $15.
