There are a lot of creepy games out there, but Happy’s Humble Burger Farm has always stood out to me. It gives me a Five Nights at Freddy’s vibe with cooking and some management aspects involved. I haven’t had the pleasure of trying it, but it looks like that’s going to change because the game not only is free right now, but it also just got an update to make it significantly better on the Steam Deck.

Happy's Humble Burger Farm

For the next 4 days, the game can be added to your Steam library permanently for free. Publisher tinyBuild is giving away the game for free to celebrate the announcement of the next game coming from the team: Happy’s Humble Burgatory. The new game has some interesting mechanics, like bringing the horror gameplay of the original into co-op, different modifiers to change each run, and the game will even change based on how you communicate or use certain words throughout the run. It sounds awesome, and with the game releasing next month, we won’t have to wait long to try off ourselves.

On top of the game being free, it got a massive new update that brought back full Steam Deck compatibility. The game now pauses cleanly for suspend/resume, gamepad controls work in the rebinding menu, native 16:10 support for the Deck’s 1280x800 screen, better default settings, cloud save syncing, and live button icon swapping. All of this makes the portable experience significantly better, but that hasn’t stopped the team from making a perform better overall. They’ve also reduce the install size, baked static lighting throughout the game, and in-game stuttering has been reduced, which should all help how well it plays on the Deck.

Happy’s Humble Burger Farm is completely free to keep permanently on Steam if you redeem it before June 15th, so make sure to get it before then. And if you’re interested, you can wishlist Happy’s Humble Burgatory on Steam ahead of its July 16th release date.
