The Yuzu team has been crushing it with its improvements month over month, adding in some fantastic improvements like rewriting the buffer cache for average improvements across the board, as well as CPU accuracy and much more (check it out in our last emulator roundup), but it doesn't look like the team is slowing down.
Yuzu is a Nintendo Switch emulator that is in active development. While we do support emulation and video game preservation, we do not endorse piracy in any way shape or form.
In the Early Access build, there are three specific improvements that have been added that all relate directly to the Steam Deck:
Yuzu EA Update 3604 Changelog:
- Tweaked garbage collector to be more aggressive in favour of steam deck.
- Limit device access memory for integrated devices to 4 GB.
- Prevent vram usage from filling up in integrated devices like steam deck.
The changelog above was taken from Yuzu's official discord server, posted in the official yuzu-updates channel. You can download the newest early access update from the Github release page, just make sure to download the Linux Yuzu AppImage.
We haven't had the chance to check out the difference ourselves, but any improvement is more than welcome.
