Are you excited about the upcoming launch of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2? Many are, and despite the disappointing news we got previously about the beta being canceled, we haven't been left entirely in the dark, with the team releasing a 7-minute video showcasing the multiplayer gameplay we can look forward to when the game launches on September 9th, just a month away!

Check out the video below:

The trailer shows off both Operations (PvE, co-operative) and Eternal War (PvP, competitive) multiplayer modes in Space Marine 2, players will get to choose from six playable classes (Tactical, Assault, Vanguard, Bulwark, Sniper, and Heavy), and as you progress, you'll earn Armoury Data and Requisition Points which can be spent kitting out your Space Marine’s appearance through the game’s deep customization system.

The game does offer some preset suits for each chapter, but you still have the freedom to piece together your own cosmetics to create the best armor and weapon skins around.

The developers have also promised that there will be additional PvE missions added after Space Marine 2 launches, as well as more PvP maps, enemies, and weapons all being added through regular and free updates.

If you're a Season Pass owner, you will be granted additional cosmetics and Chapter heraldry through seasonal, themed DLC celebrating the many fan-favorite factions of the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

One of the most interesting things mentioned, however, is the game's system requirements, given in the form of this handy image:

The system requirements are what's typically on the Steam Deck's upper end, but I think that it may be capable of running the game at low settings at 30 FPS. It's going to be tight though!

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is due to launch on Steam on September 9th, 2024. If you purchase the Gold or Ultra Editions, you can play the game earlier on September 5th, 2024. The game will have partial controller support, we'll have to see how it runs performance-wise on the Steam Deck.
