Nightdive Studios have been pretty successful with their remasters over the past few years, and their latest title The Thing Remastered will haunt players later this year!
It has been 22 years since The Thing graced us with its chilling presence on the PlayStation 2, and Nightdive is celebrating the anniversary in style with another showcase of the remake. The Thing Remastered is designed to be an authentic restoration of the original but updated for the modern age.
Nightdive Studios has done extensive work on this remaster for the modern era, and The Thing Remastered is suitable for play on current-generation gaming devices, with 4K resolution at 120FPS. Upgraded character models, animations, and improved lighting only add to the atmospheric terror that is The Thing.

Returning to the ominously named location of US Outpost #31, players will continue the story of The Thing, leading a team of elite soldiers against a host of terrifying enemies. To check out more, the Devlog is an excellent place to learn more about Nightdive’s remaster design philosophy.
The Thing: Remastered will be released digitally later this year, and can be wishlisted on Steam. Have you played The Thing? What do you think of the upcoming remaster? Let us know in the comments!
