The Elder Scrolls Online has been around for quite some time now, and it was one of the first games I tried on the Steam Deck when I got it. Taking the MMO on the go was one of the coolest things, and it still is. It was also very playable on the Steam Deck and had the Playable rating for quite some time. However, this has recently changed, and the game now officially has the green checkmark.

The Elder Scrolls Online

The game officially got the Playable rating last year, but there were a few aspects that were holding it back from the Verified badge. This includes needing to navigate the launcher with the touchscreen, having to manually bring up the virtual keyboard, and needing to manually enable gamepad controls in the settings. After all that was done, it was very playable. However, it seems that this has all been fixed, and 5 days ago, the game officially received the Verified badge.

I have tested the game and confirm that a lot of these issues have been fixed, but I can’t pinpoint exactly when these fixes were implemented. I looked back at the patch notes for the last three major updates, which go all the way back to November 2025, and there’s no mention of any change changes for the Steam Deck. The only time the Deck was actually mentioned in the patch notes was from 47 which fixed a softlock on the character select screen. However, seeing is how the newest update went live after the Verified badge change, I can say it must’ve been implemented in the past without any mention of the fix.

However, I’m not complaining. Anything done to make any game run better on this steam deck gets a huge thumbs up from me. I do wish they notified us about the changes when they made them, it would’ve been cool to see it happen and celebrate it, but it’s better late than never.
