I love Nightdive Studios' remasters, and I was extremely excited when I learned that System Shock 2 was next on their chopping block. In our review, I went through the definitive way to experience this classic game, and there are some major improvements that justify diving in again. It's a great experience, and their first update fixes up some minor issues that were found within 24 hours after release!

In System Shock 2 Remaster's first update, we primarily have some quick fixes for issues that have popped up since release. There's also a specific fix for the Steam Deck where secondary controllers wouldn't work properly with the Deck if an external controller were attached. Now, there should be no issues with any controllers attached, and we can play with ease.
The rest of the update has some minor fixes and changes to default settings. There are no more invincible enemies in co-op, the default turning sensitivity and deadzones for controllers have been increased, and fixes for flickering screens on some objects. We also have an added option for analog stick edge acceleration, which can increase the speed at which the camera pans around when your joystick is hitting the edge of the deadzone.
You can check out the full changelog for the update via their Steam Community Post.

System Shock 2 Remaster is $29.99 on Steam and is rated Verified. You can also check out our review for a full rundown of our thoughts on the game.
