We saw a lot of new Steam Deck Verified/Playable games get their sweet new badges last week, including some newly released games that are awesome to play on the Deck! From Expeditions: A MudRunner Game to Last Epoch, there are going to be a lot of varied and interesting games to enjoy.
Here are the 12 highlights we found:
Verified or Playable games don't automatically mean they work amazing out of the box. Some of these games may require work to optimize and play well. Here are our thoughts on the Verified system and how it can be fixed.

Expeditions: A MudRunner Game (Playable) (SDHQ Review)

Last Epoch (Playable) (SDHQ Review)

Slave Zero X (Verified) (SDHQ Review)
Slave Zero X is a stylish 2.5D character action game set in the biopunk world of Slave Zero (1999). Run & Slash your way through a dystopian future in this character action game which will resonate with fans of Devil May Cry, Strider, and Guilty Gear.
The game is $24.99 and rated Verified.
Mr. Run and Jump (Verified)
Help Mr. Run and Jump defeat the terrifying Void and collect all of the Power Gems from the Realms of Color! Venture through a dazzling and dangerous world, dodging countless enemies and conquering hundreds of fierce platforming challenges to save the day!
The game is $24.99 and rated Verified.
qomp2 (Playable)
An artful reimagining of Pong. Control a Pong ball aching to break free of its life stuck between two paddles. Explore a dangerous, minimalist world, armed with simple two button controls.
The game is $19.99 and rated Playable due to needing to bring up the on-screen keyboard and manually setting the display resolution.
Nightingale (Playable)
Set out on a journey of survival and adventure, into the mysterious and dangerous Fae Realms of Nightingale! Become an intrepid Realmwalker, and venture forth alone or with friends - as you explore, craft, build and fight across a visually stunning Gaslamp Fantasy world.
The game is in early access and priced at $29.99. It is rated Playable due to possibly needing a community controller configuration, showing incorrect controller icons, and small in-game text. The game also needs a constant internet connection, even when playing alone.
DunHero (Verified)
DunHero is an Action Roguelike RPG. Select your character, Level Up, collect powerful items, Explore amazing procedurally generated worlds, and challenge anyone even NPCs. Each journey is unique. Conquer all bosses and free the world from evil.
The game is in early access and costs $7.99. It is rated Verified and has a Native Linux build.
Geometry Survivor (Verified)
Geometry Survivor is rogue-lite survival where you fight waves of enemies. Unlock innovative upgrades in the shop, acquire new ships and conquer the unforgiving grid world.
The game is $4.99 and rated Verified.
Garden Life: A Cozy Simulator (Playable)
Garden Life is a relaxing gardening game in which you create your dream garden in a peaceful, colourful world. Plant and add ornaments at your own pace, transforming an overgrown forgotten plot into a flourishing community garden.
The game is $24.99 and rated Playable due to needing to manually configure settings to perform well and small in-game text.
Corpse Keeper (Playable)
Corpse Keeper is a very challenging action-strategy roguelite. You'll need to lead a squad of three corpses to explore the grim and dark medieval world within limited time, build a powerful army of the living dead, and finally kill the demon lurking in the deep end of the cathedral.
The game is in early access and costs $19.99. It is rated Playable due to showing incorrect controller icons and needing to set the correct display resolution.
Hero's Land (Playable)
HERO'S LAND is a multiplayer survival PvEvP game. Survival is the key. If you die, you’ll lose everything you equipped! The greater the risk, the greater the reward. Loot highly rare weapons and gears from monsters. Stay alive and be vigilant. Get stronger and wiser.

Gordian Rooms 2: A Curious Island (Verified)

The game is on sale for $22.49 until March 13th and is rated Verified.

Last Epoch is completely unplayable on deck due to small text and non working controller support.

I wouldn't say it's completely unplayable. Yes there is some small text and controller support could be improved, but it isn't unplayable. I do agree that community and ACTUAL testing should be included in these ratings though.

No no, it's totally okay! I understand the discontent completely and do agree with the criticisms. I also feel like Valve's Verified system still needs improvements to actually be accurate and not mislead those who may not know better.

I think Valve does consult the community, but usually long after they've made their evaluation. That's why you sometimes get asked how a game ran when you quit it on the Steam Deck.
But often, Valve evaluates games before release (such as Persona 3 Reload and Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth), in those cases, obviously the community has no involvement.
