The developers at Offworld have showcased the two big updates for Starship Troopers: Extermination. Update 1.4 is available right now, and we can see powerful enemies, along with some unique tools and new features that give an immersive experience to players.

In Update 1.4, you can expect changes such as the fidget heroism feature, under-barrel attachment for Morita MK1, improved bug pathing, and general gameplay enhancement. The FedNet heroism feature allows the trooper to equip FedNet cameras. This allows them to document heroism on the battlefield. This boosts unit morale, including XP. Get ready to jump into the action to earn rewards and change the mission with propaganda.
The underbarrel attachment for the Morita MK1 adds a shotgun to the weapon and requires players to get to Weapon Mastery level 6 or higher with this weapon. The accuracy is slightly reduced, and the additional weight affects the rifle’s balance while shooting and moving in combat. Bugs can now explore more efficiently, and their chance of getting stuck is also reduced in the environment. Players can experience the refined core mechanics and can boost their tactical experience, as the quality of life is improved. You can see the full list of changes is available in the official patch notes.
Update 1.5 will also bring some major changes to Starship Troopers: Extermination. It includes the introduction of Morita MK2, Galactic Front, a quickplay option for Company Ops, and a dynamic Sky System added to X-11. Players can use a new powerful weapon that we have often seen in movies. So, add it to your arsenal to eliminate the threats in the world. The developers bring some big improvements to the accessibility and usability of Company Operations, based on community feedback. You can also see the company operations on the rotating list in the game menu that is linked to your progression milestones.
The streamlined matchmaking will make it quicker to get into operations. You can now enjoy the new visual layer in the combat, including the evolving skies and continued refinements. Hive Hunt will now become a 16-player-only mode in Update 1.5. This makes Hive Hunt a core part of the 16-player experience. This is Part 1 of an even larger revamp.
The game will allow players to carry Nukes to each hive and detonate them due to the Hive Hunt changes. The other teammates can protect the Nuke carriers to ensure an effective strike. The challenge is raised because the spawn tables are updated. However, this mode may feel easier until we get the rest of the changes in Update 1.6.
Starship Troopers: Extermination is an action-packed co-op FPS inspired by the Starship Troopers movie. Get ready to assemble with the Deep Space Vanguard to fight Arachnid hordes spread across hostile planets. The game launched in Early Access on May 17, 2023, and got a full release on October 11, 2024, for PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and the Offworld shop.
