Dragon Quest Builders Proton Experimental

A new Proton Experimental update was released with some fixes for multiple games. Escape from Monkey Island will no longer crash, Dragon Quest Builders won't have audio issues after suspending, Natural Selection 2 should be able to connect to servers again, and SCP: Secret Laboratory's debug menu is up and working once again.

The new update should automatically download if you already have the experimental layer. If not, just search for Proton Experimental in the Steam store on your Steam Deck and download.

Proton Experimental 7/2/26 Update Changelog:

  • Fixed Escape from Monkey Island crashing on some setups.
  • Fixed audio issues in DRAGON QUEST BUILDERS happening after device suspend.
  • Fixed Proton Experimental regressions:
    • Debug menu in SCP: Secret Laboratory works again.
    • Deathloop is playable again with NVIDIA GPUs.
  • Fixed Proton 11 regressions:
    • Natural Selection 2 should be able to connect to servers again.
