Proton 10.0-3 Goes Into Public Testing With Loads Of New Fixes

The next version of the stable branch of Proton is now available for public testing! Yesterday, Proton 10.0-3 went into release candidate testing, allowing the public to try out the new layer to make sure everything works. This version brought with it lots of changes that were previously only on the Proton Experimental or Hotfix branches, including new playable games, fixes for OLED Steam Decks, making sure games like Dune: Awakening and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain are working alright, and much more. We also have updates to Proton's components like dxvk and vkd3d-proton.

You can try out the new layer for yourself by searching up "Proton 10.0" in your library, then going into the Steam properties and changing the beta to the "release-candidate" branch. This should automatically redownload the layer as the new 10.0-3 version.

  • METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN no longer crashes at the start of Chapter 1 video.
  • Assetto Corsa EVO should no longer reset modified autocenter strength.
  • LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures should correctly load controller mapping when using Steam Input.
  • Malody V is playable again.
  • Rockstar Launcher's birthday date selection dropdowns work again.
  • Resident Evil Village no longer freezes after cutscenes.
