As far as procedurally generated roguelikes go, One Way Heroics isn't brought up much, but it really should be. This RPG has a simple concept: keep moving to the right before the darkness engulfs you. You will level up, defeat enemies, and use skills to get through a nearly infinite world and face the Demon Lord. And, with today's new update, it is much more playable on the Steam Deck.

Before this update, the two biggest issues with playing this on the Deck were the audio cutting out and some text not showing up due to fonts. With this new update, both of these issues seem to have been fixed. The Windows fonts have been replaced with Linux-friendly ones, and a fix was attempted where music wouldn't play. There was also a feature added where the virtual keyboard will now automatically pop up when needing to input text.

Other than that, there were some small fixes to correct button prompts, and buttons will be set to the currently connected gamepad when key configurations are reset. There was also a bug fix for the time counter to occasionally display a negative number, and a fix was implemented for the text-overflow issue on the results screen.

You can view the changelog over on their Steam Community Post.

You can get One Way Heroics on Steam now for $3.49. It is rated Playable due to having a third-party launcher or setup tool, needing to use a community controller configuration, not showing correct controller icons, needing to use the virtual keyboard manually (fixed), and possibly needing to quit the game via the Steam overlay manually. Oddly enough, the game does mention that the in-game interface text is legible on Deck, though the text not showing was a big issue on the Steam Deck before.
