There are a few games that stand out and withstand the test of time in my mind. These games are incredible and are still worth going back to play. One of those is Mirror’s Edge. The first-person parkour game completely tantalized me. The combination of its simple aesthetics and objectively cool parkour mechanics was awesome. It’s still one of those games I can come back to and find the joy in, in the game has finally received the Steam Deck Verified badge.

The game received the green checkmark earlier today, and I’m surprised it took this long. With its new rating, it shows that the default controller configuration and graphic configuration work. Well, it shows the correct controller, icons, and the in-game text is eligible. It also notes that you may need to manually switch the control controller for external Bluetooth/USB controllers.
Now, I generally have a problem with the Verified system, but in this case, I completely agree with it. Despite some trouble installing PhysX manually during the first-time setup, the game runs exceptionally well on the Steam Deck. At the default settings, it can easily hit 60 FPS on high-quality at the native resolution.
I also tested it on the Steam Machine, which runs it equally well. It can hit 60 FPS at 2K resolution (2560x1440) with high-quality settings. I also tried it on the highest settings, but there were some minor drops here and there when running around the level, but if we turn a couple of settings down, it should be very playable at 60 FPS. I wouldn’t expect anything less, since this is a game from 2008, but still.

Mirror’s Edge can be purchased for $19.99 on Steam.
