While most games support tons of different ways to visually improve how your game looks in their settings, not all of them do. Some are missing some key features, and that's where ReShade comes in. ReShade is a post-processing injector that can allow you to add visual effects to your game, like HDR, SMAA Anti Aliasing, or even weirder effects like Cartoon. On the Steam Deck, this is usually more complicated, but that's where the LetMeReShade plugin for Decky Loader comes in!
Developed by itsOwen, this plugin allows you to use ReShade in Game Mode and install it on whatever game you want to, without hassle. However, a new update was released yesterday that should make it even better to use for all of your games!

If you don’t have Decky Loader installed on your Steam Deck, you can follow our guide on how to get it installed easily.
With the 0.9 release, we officially start getting support for non-Steam games with the plugin. Before, we could only use it for games through Steam, but this update brings beta implementation for games outside of Steam. This means any game from the Heroic Launcher, Lutris, third-party launchers, and any game added that isn’t a part of Steam. The update also fixes a DRM issue, makes it so you don’t have to change Proton versions manually, and some API problems have been resolved.
Per the GitHub page, you do need to install the plugin manually, which means it may not be on the Decky Loader store yet. This means you’ll have to download the 0.9 release, then move the downloaded files to the homebrew/plugins folder. After that, it should appear in your Decky Loader plugin list in game mode.
I like how this plugin not only offers support for ReShade, but also installs VkBasalt, which enables support for games that use Vulkan. It automatically checks for updates to both programs, configures the HOME key automatically to easily access the menu, and has Steam Deck optimized presets. The plugin doesn’t work with the Frame Generation plugin due to using the same DLL that it modifies, but I would personally choose ReShade over Frame Generation.
You can download LetMeReShade from their GitHub.
