The upcoming Halo remake is in full swing, and I couldn’t be more excited. Halo: Campaign Evolved is bringing us back to the first game in the series, the one that set up a path for its dominance as a flagship franchise for Xbox. Not only that, but it’s going to feature new missions, a huge, graphical overhaul, and more. I’m so excited for it, and from the latest trailer, it looks like it’s going to be playable on the Steam Deck.

Over on Twitter/X, the official account for Halo posted a new trailer to showcase co-op and splitscreen. At about the 302nd mark, they show video of the game being played on the Steam Deck as they are talking about being able to squat up with players on other consoles. It’s only shown for about five seconds, but it’s very clearly there with the trackpads in full view.
This was an interesting choice by Xbox, considering they have handheld PCs of their own that they can showcase. I know Xbox isn’t shy from mentioning the Steam Deck, considering they specially mentioned it on the Forza Horizon 6 spec sheet, but they also mentioned their ROG Xbox Ally as well. So, it’s a little surprising that they only show the Deck here. It’s also possible that they are appealing to owners of the most popular handheld PC right now, but it’s still interesting to see.
We don’t have any specifics about how it will run on the Deck, but if Xbox is showing it off, it means they’re probably targeting the platform. It would be great to be able to play this on the Deck, so with them showing it like this, I am airing on the optimistic side for being able to enjoy this on the go.

Halo: Campaign Evolved can be pre-purchased for $49.99 ahead of its July 28th release date.
