Intel has always been lagging a little bit behind AMD when it comes to its mobile chips. This was made particularly evident when the original MSI Claw launched with an Intel processor instead of the traditional AMD. But that could all be about to change thanks to Intel introducing a new line of "Arc G-Series" processors, focused on handheld gaming performance.

Among the features of the new Arc G-Series processors is support for Intel XeSS 3 upscaling, which means Intel Multi-Frame Generation will be supported, as well as their competent implementation of resolution upscaling. It will also support Intel Precompiled Shaders, allowing users to pre-download shader caches from the cloud to reduce stutter in games.
Intel confirms that upcoming handhelds from Acer, MSI, and OnePlayer will feature the upcoming Intel Arc G-Series processors. The line-up begins with the Arc G3 and Arc G3 Extreme processors sporting up to an Arc B390 GPU, part of the Battlemage lineup of Intel's graphics processors.

The chipset will also have support for WiFi 7 R2, Bluetooth 6, and Thunderbolt 4 for external GPUs and fast data transfers up to 40Gb/s.
The Intel Arc G3 series will be available to OEMs in June 2026, so we'll see devices on the market this year featuring this processor. We'll have to see if it can steal AMD's long-held crown.
