This one crept up on me out of nowhere, but today, April 23rd, 2026, we were treated to a 40-minute showcase from ID@Xbox, exploring the latest indie games to be hitting our screens. Indie and Xbox are a great combination for Steam Deck users, as it means the games are likely to be on PC, and they're also likely to run well.

Renovation Simulator Meets Horror in There Are No Ghosts at the Grand - Coming 2026

We saw this one a while back, but with more of a focus on the "Renovation" aspect of the gameplay. Now we've got a proper look at the storyline and some of the characters you'll meet in the game, and it's looking like a very unique and interesting proposition. Still no firm release date, sadly.

Souls-like Platformer Vapor World: Over The Mind, Launches into Early Access June 2026, Demo out Now

Lost in darkness, a boy drawn into a twisted dream, no way out. Vapor World is a narrative-driven souls-like platformer focused on deflection combat set in an atmospheric world of dreams. Descend within a shattered mind seeking lost memories. Face a dark, beautiful world born of anguish and regret.

It seems rather odd for a platformer to be going the Early Access route, but the game does seem to be fairly well along, and the developers do state they plan to fully release before the end of 2026, so it is planned to be a short Early Access period.

A Better Look at STARSEEKER: Astroneer Expeditions, Open Beta Starts This Month

We got a look at this one during the recent Triple i Initiative showcase, but this time, we got a quick-fire look at several gameplay scenes, and it's looking like there's a fair amount you can do in the game already. I, for one, am glad that we seemingly aren't tied to oxygen lines like you are in the original Astroneer game!

Sci-Fi Adventure Aphelion Launches on April 28th, 2026. Here's the Latest Trailer

Lofsöng is a Puzzle Adventure Game with a Unique Art Style

Explore, listen, and unravel a hidden language buried in stone and sound. An exploration puzzle adventure set across vast brutalist landscapes shaped by deep time ages.

Looking at the trailer, it almost feels as though the art style is derived from the artefacting you get when using temporal upscalers such as FSR/DLSS or TAA. Hopefully that's intentional!

Newly Released Vampire Crawlers Gets a New Gameplay Trailer - Out Now

From the creators of Vampire Survivors comes a turbo-charged, turn-based roguelite deckbuilder! Deal world-ending combos, blitz through infested dungeons, and master the Turboturn to obliterate hordes of familiar foes with a chaotic hand of cards.

If somehow, you didn't already know this game existed or was out, now you do! It's currently sitting at 97% Overwhelmingly Positive user reviews on Steam, so it looks like poncle has another hit on their hands too.

Sci-fi Deckbuilder Echo Generation 2 Launches May 27th, 2026

If Vampire Crawlers wasn't enough deckbuilding action for you, then the sequel to the well-received Echo Generation is just around the corner!

Not really much shown for this one, but Tears of Metal is a medieval hack-and-slash co-op roguelike. As you advance deeper into the trenches, uncover more about the mysterious Dragon Meteor and the treacherous enemy invasion.

Crashout Crew is Hectic Warehouse Co-op Action - Coming May 28th, 2026

Time to clock in at DE NILE SHIPPING, the world’s “most efficient” warehouse! Work together in online co-op with up to 4 players to fulfill orders of increasingly chaotic, physics-based boxes. Time is money, and safety is no concern… just try not to crash out!

This one looks like it'll be an absolute blast with some friends!

A New Trailer Exploring the World of Escape Academy 2 - Launches 2026

We got another trailer for Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School, which is still on track to release in 2026. Again, it emphasizes the fact that this one will take place in an open world, a unique proposition for an escape "room" game. I loved the original, though, so I'm excited for this one, especially as it still retains the local and online co-op features.

inKONBINI: One Store. Many Stories is a cozy slice-of-life game about running a small-town convenience store, inspired by early 1990s Japan. Meet regulars, stock shelves, and watch quiet, everyday moments turn into meaningful stories.

This one looks like such a unique game, and I'm very tempted to pick it up when it releases next week.

This one looked wild the first time I saw it a while back, and it still does now. No release date for this one yet, but I can't wait for when it finally releases.
