First Images of Duncan Jones' "Rogue Trooper" Movie Released

The Rogue Trooper movie is an adaptation of the classic British comic of the same name, as well as related to the 2006 video game. The movie is being written and directed by Duncan Jones. Rebellion and Duncan Jones shared four brand new images today, showcasing a glimpse of this highly anticipated movie. Get ready to go to a planet at war in Rogue Trooper.

Aneurin Barnard (The Goldfinch, Dunkirk) is the Rogue Trooper, as shown in these new images. Jemaine Clement (Avatar 2: The Way of Water) and Matt Berry (What We Do in the Shadows) are Mr. Brass and Mr. Bland in this upcoming movie. The images also show us a war vehicle roaming the planet Nu Earth. This is an Earth where the war between the Norts and Southers occurs. Two Souther soldiers, lost, traversing the toxic wasteland and battlefield, are showcased in the third image.

Moreover, Rebellion, the famous videogame publisher, revealed that it will be present at SDCC. Get to the Rebellion stand, booth number 2121, to interact with Duncan Jones at San Diego Comic Con on July 25 (2-3 pm PDT).

Producer Stuart Fenegan says, “We are so excited to share a first look at the film and show the amazing fidelity with which the team has used our actors' on-set performances to drive the animated characters. That level of detail and nuance was a priority from day one.”

The movie is based on the story of 19, who is a Genetic Infantryman and is the only survivor of an invasion force. He is accompanied by three killed-in-action squad mates and wants to find the traitor who sold him. His squad’s personalities are captured in his gun, helmet, and backpack.

An ensemble cast like Hayley Atwell (Captain America: The First Avenger, Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One and Part Two), Jack Lowden (Slow Horses, Dunkirk), Daryl McCormack (Bad Sisters; Good Luck To You, Leo Grande), and Reece Shearsmith (Inside No. 9, Saltburn), Diane Morgan (Cunk on Earth), Alice Lowe (Black Mirror), Asa Butterfield (Sex Education, Hugo) and Sean Bean (Game of Thrones, The Lord of the Rings) are featured in The Rogue Trooper.

The cutting-edge Head Mounted Camera (HMC) technology and expertise of Motion Grinder (Indiana Jones and The Great Circle) were used to complete the Principal Photography in 2024 for the movie. And animation partner, Treehouse Digital, for the Rogue Trooper movie used Unreal Engine 5 to enhance the imagery.

Stuart Fenegan (Moon, Source Code, Warcraft, Mute), along with Jason Kingsley (Dredd, School's Out Forever), Chris Kingsley (Dredd, School's Out Forever), and Duncan Jones, are producing the film.
