The entire Fallout series is pretty massive, and the ability to play them on the Steam Deck is phenomenal. The games are massive, with a ton of content and modding opportunities. Fallout 4, the newest game in the series, is equally awesome to play on the go, and with a new update coming soon, we should be seeing it get the green Verified checkmark!

In an article that was posted two days ago, Bethesda announced that Fallout 4 is getting some free updates on April 25th. While there are console updates with it, which include 60 FPS modes on PS5 and Xbox Series X, we also have some nice PC updates with widescreen/ultra-widescreen support, fixes to the Creation Kit, and quest updates. We also have some fixes for stability, mods, and bug fixes. And, it was announced that Fallout 4 will be Steam Deck Verified!

Now, the game is already playable on the Deck, and it's great, but it does have the Playable badge due to needing to bring up the virtual keyboard manually and the launcher/setup tool needing the touchscreen. It appears this update will be fixing those issues, making it the first game in the Fallout series to have the green checkmark!

We will also have some new free content from the Creation Club coming, including Enclave Remnants (new weapons, skins, armor, and uniform), the Makeshift Weapon Pack (new weapons), and Halloween Workshop (new decorations).

This update does bring the fear of all current mods outside of the Creation Club getting broken, which is a bummer, but the modding community for Bethesda games is one of the few I have complete faith in, and I know they will recover!

The new update will be available for free on April 25th, and Fallout 4 is available for 75% off on Steam until April 19th for $4.99.
