The 2D side-scrolling platformer Dog Man: Mission Impawsible, created by Floor 84 Studio, is sure to please fans of Dav Pilkey's Dog Man series. The much-loved Dog Man universe and characters will finally come to life in a video game with the game's PC Steam launch on December 6, 2024.

The creative teams at Mindscape and Pilkey collaborated to make sure the game is fun and exciting for players of all ages while staying faithful to the original graphic novels' tone.

While Dog Man: Mission Impawsible is primarily aimed at fans of the books, the game's 50 levels, five distinct worlds, and variety of playable characters suggest that it could appeal to a broader audience too. Whether you're already a fan of Dog Man or just looking for a charming platformer with humor and heart, this game offers a glimpse into a quirky world filled with puzzles, gadgets, and plenty of action.

A Playful and Nostalgic Adventure

Dog Man and his trusty Supa Buddies will be playable characters in Mission Impawsible, and they each have their own special skills that players can unlock. This isn’t just about running and jumping; you’ll be digging underground, gliding through the air, and hacking gadgets as you chase down the villain who stole the key to the city. Players will be kept on their toes by the game's promise of a combination of platforming, puzzle-solving, and combat.

A notable aspect is the extensive arsenal of weapons and equipment that can be acquired through the game's progression. These include rocket boots and grappling hooks, to name just a few. The lighthearted and action-packed adventure keeps the player engaged from start to finish, thanks to the playful animations and humorous dialogue that stay true to the tone of Pilkey’s books.

What to Expect at Steam Next Fest

From October 14th to the 21st, Steam Next Fest will host a demo of Dog Man: Mission Impawsible for those who can't wait for the official release. Players will be able to test out the game for themselves and see how faithfully it adapts the comic book storyline to an interactive medium.

A Light-Hearted Adventure for Fans and Newcomers Alike

It looks like Dog Man: Mission Impawsible will be a funny and easy-to-pick-up platformer with the perfect amount of difficulty. It’s certainly an exciting prospect for younger gamers or fans of Dav Pilkey’s books, but there’s a real question about how the game will resonate with platformer veterans. With Floor 84 Studio’s pedigree and the fun, quirky tone of Dog Man, there’s potential for a lighthearted adventure that’s worth keeping an eye on.
