Cyberpunk 1.6 Update

Update 9/7/22: Clarified that the Cross-Progression save restrictions are only applicable to certain regions, which are listed below.

CDProjectRed (CDPR) announced a couple new things today. The first of which being their new expansion dubbed Phantom Liberty which will see the return of V and Keanu Reeves! The expansion will only be released on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and S, and Stadia. But that wasn't all...

The next patch for Cyberpunk 2077 was released today as well which brings in a lot of changes and additions to the game. In terms of additional content, there is now a Wardrobe, which will allow you to create outfits that don't mess with armor stats, 3 new gigs, 6 new firearms, 5 new melee weapons, and a new arcade game. CDPR also took the opportunity to add in some secrets, equipment, and new photo mode features inspired by their Netflix anime series, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.

Now those are all nice and dandy, but the biggest improvement by FAR would be the addition of Cross Progression. After you log into your account in Cyberpunk at the main menu, your save will automatically be uploaded to the cloud and you will be able to use it on other platforms. There is a caveat to this though. While you can transfer saves from consoles to PCs, and other PCs can transfer within each other, you won't be able to transfer your PC save to your console.

Edit 9/7/22: This Cross-progression save restriction is only applicable to Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Japanese SKUs.

Other than that, there was a bunch of other fixes included. Some specific for consoles, some for PC, and 2 specifically for Steam Deck:

  • [Steam Deck] Fixed an issue where the dedicated preset was applying Ultra settings instead of properly crafted graphics settings.
  • [Steam Deck] Fixed an issue where the game became unresponsive after trying to change Key Bindings.

You can view the entire changelog and details over on their website.

What do you guys think? Will this be enough to get you back into Cyberpunk?
