I have been loving my time with Creatures of Ava so far, and playing it on the Steam Deck has been such a wonderful way to experience the game. It's beautiful, works great with a controller, and feels right at home with the Deck's OLED screen. However, for some reason, the game had an Unsupported rating before it was fully released, which confused me since the game was running like a charm on the Deck. Thankfully, this rating seems to have been fixed at the perfect time!

As of today, Creatures of Ava is rated Verified for the Steam Deck, and while I am not always a fan of Valve's rating system, I do agree with the rating so far. I was worried at first, since it could discourage people from trying the game or purchasing it thinking it won't work, but I am glad Valve has corrected it.

Creatures of Ava is a creature collector that focuses more on saving the ecosystem rather than taming and fighting characters. Your goal is to save the planet from a life-consuming infection, and you will travel across 4 different ecosystems to do so. It's an awesome game so far, and one that I can cautiously recommend. It's only cautious since I haven't beaten the game yet for our review, but once I do, I will be sharing my thoughts and settings!

Creatures of Ava can be purchased on Steam for $22.49, which is 10% off the full price, and will stay that way until August 21st.
