Civilization 7 could have gone smoother, but another big patch for the game is now out. Patch 1.2.5 hopes to improve vast swathes of the game, including a nice small fix for a UI issue that had plagued the Steam Deck.

Civilization 7

The one part of the update that affects the Steam Deck is a fix for the UI. There was a small issue where the "Next" button would be missing in the Antiquity era and viewing the tutorial menu. This has now been fixed, so there shouldn't be any missing buttons anymore.

This is a fairly chunky update that includes new themed City States, several new map types with better map generation to improve diversity of games, UI changes, a Napoleon rework, and a ton of balance changes. There’s a long way to go yet for Civilization 7, but this update at least shows some improvements.

Civilization 7 is 35% off for $48.99 until October 6 as part of the Steam Autumn Sale. The game is rated Verified.
