If you are looking for a spiritual successor to Wipeout, you won't have to look much further. BallisticNG is a high-speed racing game that goes through futuristic environments with weapons to destroy your opponents along the way. And yesterday, a new update was released to make the racing much more enjoyable on the Steam Deck.

In the latest development build of the game, which can be accessed in BallisticNG's beta tab in the properties menu, we have some new enhancements for those playing on the Steam Deck. First, keyboard overlays have been configured to work with Steam's virtual keyboard. This means whenever you need to input text, Steam's keyboard will pop up, which is easier to use over the internal overlay in-game.
Second, there has been an added option for HUD Scaling. You will be able to scale the HUD in races between 80% and 120%. This is great if you are on a smaller screen and want it to be a bit more legible. Unfortunately, this is only while in races, as the menus have been created specifically at the scale they are right now.
Other than those, there is a new focus on the layout creator 2.0, and Lua scripting has been extended to ships! You can also now reload mod content without needing to restart the game, which makes it a lot easier when constantly getting new mods while in-game.
You can view the full changelog over on their Steam Community Post.

BallisticNG is available on Steam now for $14.99, and while it doesn't have a rating, it has been reported to work alright and has a native Linux build!
