While I do not play many Metroidvania games, I know it is an incredibly popular genre. Recently, the lovely developers behind Anima Flux announced an update on their release window. Their co-op Metroidvania title has an updated demo you can play now on Steam and a new launch window for later this year.

I like the look of Anima Flux. You get to play as genetically modified soldiers that serve a powerful dictatorship. In this gritty, dystopian world, the player can work either alone or with a friend in a desperate fight to protect the last bastion of humanity. The story also looks great! If you can even find survivors, fight through waves of hostile mutants in a final attempt to rescue humanity’s last stronghold. The graphics look great, and the animated cuts are cool as well. Check out the trailer for the game here:

With all the Metroidvania mechanics available, you can experience the game right now with its playable demo. It is nice to know that while Anima Flux is built for co-op play, you can still play solo if you want to. On those days when my teammate is off watching the Olympics, I can still play by myself. As with many games in the genre, death is not the end, as you can transfer your supersoldier’s consciousness to another vessel.

Anima Flux can be wishlisted on Steam. What do you think of the trailer? Will you be playing the demo? Let us know in the comments below, and have a great day!
