Athena Crisis came out in March this year, and after some enjoyable times in Early Access, I was looking forward to seeing its full release. If you were previously on the fence about this retro turn-based strategy game, I have good news! Developer Null Games announced that Athena Crisis will leave Early Access on September 23. Not only that, but a recent update brought Steam Deck Verified status!

At its heart, Athena Crisis reminds me a lot of Advance Wars. With tons of different units available, it offers an extensive single-player campaign that features 30 scenarios in the full release. As well as that, you can play Athena Crisis in co-op mode, including a ranked PVP system for up to 7 players on a single map. Having these options is great, and I’m pleased to see Athena Crisis has not forgotten the solo players out there.
If that is not enough, Athena Crisis allows you to make your own maps and scenarios with its solid editor. The game already contains dozens of user-created maps, puzzles, and campaigns. With all this mod/map support at your fingertips, the sky's the limit.

Athena Crisis can be bought on Steam right now for $19.99. Are you going to pick it up now or wait for the full release? Let us know in the comments below, and have a great day!
