Of all VR games that exist, none are nearly as popular as VRChat. It’s essentially a limitless world where you can have custom avatars, go to community-created worlds, and even play tons of different types of games. There are a ton of people playing it almost all the time, and even though it’s still in early access, it’s worth playing. While I didn’t have a doubt that it would support the Steam Frame, it’s great to see it officially get the support, which it recently did.

VRChat Steam Frame

Two days ago, VRChat posted an update that added support for an Android version of the game. We can verify this on SteamDB, which shows that it has its own .apk and OpenXR support. This should mean that the game will be supported nicely on the Frame, and that is just a treat.

The game has been available on the Android/Google Play Store already, and those who don’t have a VR headset can play the game this way. However, with the Steam Frame supporting loading .apk files, we will most likely see some Android builds make their way to Steam. And in this case, I can’t see why any Android game would be put on Steam if it wasn’t for the Steam Frame.

It’s only a matter of time before the Steam Frame launches, and I can’t wait. Recently, the first shipments of the Frame made their way to US warehouses, so it’s only a matter of time before we see an announcement and even more games get support.
