Nihon Falcom's JRPGs have always been some of my favorites, and the Ys series is a big reason why. It introduced me to the studio and got me hooked on the Trails series, and Ys X: Noridcs, the latest in the Ys series, is another great entry. As I mentioned in my review, the combat and cast of characters are wonderful, and though the story and skill tree system could use some extra love, this is overall a great experience. And with the newest update, it should be easier to read on the Steam Deck.

While the update does include a couple of new features, it does have one specific improvement for the Steam Deck. UI texture and font rendering sampling on low-resolution screens have been improved, which includes the Steam Deck specifically. So, when navigating and trying to read menus and subtitles, it should be much clearer to see.
Outside of this, the Steam Timeline for recorded footage will now mark when a new music track is being played and we have the choice to have Steam verify the game's integrity when there's a crash. PCSS shadow sampling quality and SDL input compatibility have been improved, out-of-the-box performance has been improved on some configurations, and there are a couple of bug fixes for translations.
You can check out the full changelog for the update via their Steam Community Post.

Ys X: Nordics can be purchased for $59.99 on Steam and is rated Playable due to small in-game text.
