If you are someone who wants to take up the role of captain and explore the open, procedurally generated seas, check out Windward Horizon. You will sail across the waters, taking on quests, trading, fishing, diving for hidden treasures, and taking on others with your fully customizable ship. It sounds like a great time, and with the latest update, it should be getting better to play on the Steam Deck.

The new update includes a bunch of improvements, and one of them should make it more enjoyable on the Steam Deck. The patch mentions that the team has made some changes for compliance to get the Verified badge. Specifically, the game is rated Playable due to needing a community controller configuration, showing incorrect controller icons, and small in-game text, so this update should fix all of that.
In this new patch, we have fixes and improvements to help out playability in general. Night time got performance optimizations, there are now signs of upcoming raid bosses that can be encountered before getting to them, the skybox star texture is now sampled correctly, and being near a light now shares unit sight with others.
You can check out the full changelog for the update via their Steam Community Post.

Windward Horizon is $19.99 and rated Playable.
