I have long been a fan and vocal supporter of Square Enix’s HD-2D art style. On top of that, they’ve been making great games with it, including Octopath Traveler and the Dragon Quest 1-3 remasters. Now, the next game utilizing this great art style is The Adventures of Elliot, and it’ll be gracing our screens in two months. However, it looks like there should be no problem playing this on the Steam Deck, because it got the Verified badge.

With a little over two months until it’s released, the game now has the seal of approval from Valve that it should be great to play on the Deck. Specifically, the batch notes that it should run well with the default graphical settings, the controller configuration is solid, it will show the correct controller, icons, and the in-game text is legible.
Still, Valve system isn’t always the most reliable, so I checked out the system requirements, and it should run. The CPU and GP requirements are a little high, but the game is aiming for 720p, low graphical preset, and 60 FPS with the minimum requirements. This means we could probably cut the framer down to 45 FPS and run without problems. We may face some drops at 60 FPS, but I have a good feeling that we should be able to enjoy this without many issues. While there are a few little hiccups here and there, these games tend to run quite well on the go. And personally, I can’t wait to play this one.

The Adventures of Elliot can be pre-purchased ahead of its June 18th release date.
