When it comes to games that got me into JRPGs, I attribute it to two different series: Kingdom Hearts and Tales of. I love the Tales of games, and have ever since I first played Tales of Symphonia on the GameCube. Bandai Namco has been remastering older titles in the series, starting earlier this year with Tales of Graces f, where I noted in my review how much I loved it and how perfect it is to play on the Steam Deck. Today, Bandai Namco announced the next game in the Tales of remastered project, and I couldn't be more excited.

Not long ago, Tales of Xillia Remastered was officially announced, allowing us to play through the PS3 exclusive. We will follow Milla and Jude as they embark on a journey through Rieze Maxia, and we will have to master the new battle system that includes new combos and attacks like Link Arts. The release will also contain most of the DLC, apart from some that may have licensing issues.

Of course, the remastered also comes with a wealth of improvements. This includes visual upgrades, the Grade Shop being available in the first playthrough, new Grade Shop options, a new autosave function, toggle for enemy encounters, retry feature, subtitles for battle scenes, a faster ash, destination icons, skippable cutscenes and skits, batch selection for bonus materials, more voice-over options, and so much more.

Tales of Xillia Remastered

More details are available on the Tales of Xillia Remastered page on Bandai Namco's website.

Tales of Xillia Remastered will be available on October 31st this year on Steam. There's no Steam page yet, but we do have the recommended settings. The recommended settings are a little higher than the Tales of Graces f Remastered recommendations, but should still be very playable on the Steam Deck.
