A new SteamOS beta update dropped yesterday with a few fixes and a workaround to help with VR gameplay. Degraded performance from FSR has finally been fixed, Firefox won’t freeze when in fullscreen in Desktop Mode, and the system should no longer freeze when an SD card has been removed while the device is suspended.
We also have some fixes for Unreal Engine 5 VR games, which are perfect for the upcoming Steam Frame. We also have fixes for other handhelds, like the MSI Claw A1M and Legion Go, and the Bluetooth instability with the Switch Pro controller should no longer be a problem.
You can download the updates yourself in the System Settings on the Steam Deck. Make sure your update channel is set to Beta or Preview.
