A new update to the SteamOS Preview branch was released today with some minor fixes that could help out some users. Steam installs will no longer fail automatically when trying to self-repair after corruption and a bootloader crash has been fixed for non-Steam Deck devices. We also have a fix for the level 4 performance overlay showing incorrect GPU metrics, which I appreciate a lot.
You can download the update yourself in the System Settings on the Steam Deck. Make sure your update channel is set to Preview. With this coming, we will most likely see SteamOS 3.7.0 rolled out into stable within a month, which is extremely exciting!
SteamOS 3.7.4 Preview Update Changelog:
General
- Fixed a regression from earlier 3.7 releases wherein corrupt Steam installs would fail to automatically self-repair in some cases
- Fixed the performance overlay displaying some incorrect GPU metrics in level four
Misc
- Fixed a bootloader crash on certain non-Steam Deck devices, including qemu-based virtual machines
